When citing a source with two authors in APA style, you should follow these guidelines:
In-text citation:
- For a paraphrase or summary: (Lastname1 & Lastname2, Year)
- For a direct quote: (Lastname1 & Lastname2, Year, p. Page Number)
Example: (Lopez & Smith, 2020) or (Lopez & Smith, 2020, p. 12)
Reference list entry:
- Lastname1, F. M., & Lastname2, F. M. (Year). Title of source. Publisher.
Example: Lopez, J. M., & Smith, R. T. (2020). The impact of climate change on coastal ecosystems. Journal of Environmental Studies.
Note: When there are two authors, use an ampersand (&) in the in-text citation, but use “and” in the reference list entry.
